NDP TABLES ACT TO PROTECT PENSIONS
OTTAWA – New Democrat Pension Critic Wayne Marston (Hamilton East-Stoney Creek) reintroduced legislation today to put pensioners first when their former employers go bankrupt.
The Pension Protection Act moves pensioners to the front of the line of creditors to be paid out during bankruptcy or restructuring proceedings.

TORONTO – After years of Liberal and Conservative inaction on pensions, New Democrat Leader Jack Layton says it’s time to improve retirement security for Canadians once and for all, and New Democrats have the plan to do it.
